Marjorie A. 'Margie' Sayler

Eureka: Services for Marjorie A. "Margie" Sayler, 66, Eureka, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at United Methodist Church, Eureka, with Pastor Bob Duemig officiating. Burial at Eureka City Cemetery. Marjorie died Wednesday, June 19, in Aberdeen.

 Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Eureka.

 Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

 Marjorie Ann Malsam was born on Aug. 18, 1946, at Eureka, S.D., to Frank and Adeline (Imberi) Malsam. She grew up in Hosmer and graduated from Hosmer High School with the class of 1964. On April 4, 1965, she married Joel Sayler at Eureka, S.D. They lived in Eureka for a year and then moved to Wishek, N.D. In 1971, they moved to the family farm near Eureka. In 2009, they moved into Eureka. She worked for the Eureka Community Hospital and Avera Health Care, retiring due to her health.

 Margie was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eureka, where she was active with the U.M.W. She was a member of the Schmeckfest Committee and V.F.W. Auxiliary, where she received the category two award and corsage for outstanding president for 2005-06 and the Red Hatters. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, hunting, sewing and driving the 4-wheeler. Margie loved hunting with Joel in the fall. She was a very hard worker, doing anything that needed to be done. She always took the time to help others. Her faith was important to her and always enjoyed the fellowship. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 Grateful for having shared Margie's life are her husband, Joel Sayler, Eureka; daughters: Joyce Carman and Jackie (Alan) Wurtz, both of Leola; grandchildren: Michael and Alexis Carman, Dustin and Tarren Wurtz; siblings: Joe (Sheila) Malsam and Kathy (Roger) Gramm; sister-in-laws: Norma Sayler and Mara Lou Haas; nieces and nephews: Keshia (James), Jaron (Bree'n), Shannon, Rebecca (Perry), Brian, Rhonda, Jeff (Paula), John (Angie), James (Angie), John, Wes, Willie (Corrina) and Wayne (Janeen).

 Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Adeline Malsam; sister, Joyce Malsam; sister-in-law, Iva Ione Sayler; brother-in-law, Ronnie Sayler; and niece, Mary Haas.
