Aberdeen: Marjorie Aileen Cliff, 91, of Aberdeen passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Kline St., in Aberdeen, with Pastor Richard Poppin presiding.
Marjorie's wishes were to be cremated, with inurnment to take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Aberdeen.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., in Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Aileen Pratt was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Frank and Frances (Wood) Pratt. She was raised and attended rural schools in Groton, S.D. Following graduation from Groton High School, Marjorie furthered her education at SDSU in Brookings, S.D., where she obtained her bachelor's degree in home economics. She then taught school in Britton, S.D., for three years and in Gettysburg, S.D., for three years.
Marjorie was united in marriage to George A. Cliff on June 10, 1949, in Groton. Their union was blessed with three sons: James, Ronald and Michael. The family made their home in Gettysburg until November 1952, when they moved to Aberdeen. Marjorie later began teaching at the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and continued a 14-year career there until her retirement. Marjorie and George shared almost 56 years of marriage before he passed away March 18, 2005. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.
Marjorie was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Arizona.
Surviving Marjorie are three sons: James William Cliff of Brooklyn, Wis., Ronald Edward Cliff of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Michael Allan Cliff of Aberdeen; two grandchildren: Jasmine Lee Cliff and Alec James (Rachael) Cliff; two great-granddaughters: Mia Leona Cliff and Siena Lynn Cliff; and one sister, Virginia Abeln of Groton.
Marjorie's husband, parents, and one sister, Jean Ives, preceded her in death.
