Donald Kenneth Rahm, 61, of Turton, S.D., died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield, S.D.
Donald was cremated and his memorial service will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Turton. The Rev. Peter M. Utecht will officiate. thelenfuneralhome.com
Donald was born on March 29, 1951, to Johnnie and Joyce Ann (Mannie) Rahm at Aberdeen. He was a lifetime resident of Turton, He graduated from Doland High School in 1969. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years during the Vietnam Era.
Donnie married Lynnette Karlsen on April 8, 1972, in Clark, S.D. After his discharge from the Army, they moved to Turton, where he worked as a mechanic and later farmed. He left farming and went to work for Cenex in 1998, now known as Full Circle Ag. He liked talking with his customers and going out to visit their farms. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going to Sturgis every year. He loved spending time with his grandkids, taking them to Storybook Land and pheasant hunting.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Lynnette, of 40 years; his son, Darrin (Lauri), of Clark; a daughter, Heather (Clint) Abbott, of Smithwick; six grandchildren: Brooke, Paige, Emma and Kooper Rahm, Riley and Braden Abbott. Donald is also survived by his father, Johnnie, of Turton; his three sisters: Nancy (Larry) Coats, Sally (Loel) Larsen and Brenda (Bud) Hansen; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce.
