Aberdeen: Mass of Christian burial for Amelia (Mae) Kallas of Aberdeen will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 Second Ave. N.E., in Aberdeen, with Father J. Joseph Holzhauser officiating and Father Charles Emezie con-celebrant.

 Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Aberdeen.

 Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., in Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

 Friends may sign her online guestbook at schriversmemorial.com.

 Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, with a liturgical wake service and rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday.

 Mae passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in Aberdeen. Blessed be her memory.

 Amelia (Mae) Kallas was born May 30, 1923, in Leola to Nick and Philipine (Geffre) Kline.

 She was united in marriage to Leo Kallas on Oct. 17, 1944. They made their home at the Kallas Homestead in Leola before moving to Mason City, Iowa, where they lived for nine years. The family moved to Aberdeen in 1964. Mae and Leo shared 67 years of marriage and were blessed with six wonderful children before Leo passed away on May 14, 2012. Mae continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

 Mae was very dedicated in her love for art and reading. She attended art classes in Aberdeen and Fargo, N.D. Mae enjoyed traveling and attending Neo Life conventions with her husband, Leo. She also enjoyed visiting relatives and friends.

 Mae is survived by her children: Karen (Jim) Steidl of Fargo, N.D., Kathy (Jim) Thomson of St. Louis, Mo., Lee and (Trish) Kallas of Boca Raton, Fla., Lenn (Gayle) Kallas of Watertown, and Lance (Lynn) Kallas of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Adeline (Ken) Lapka, Dorothy (Art) Heinrich and Dianne (Jerry) Heagley; and one brother, Gene (Jeanette) Kline.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents, Nick and Philipine Kline; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Rod Schuster; and one sister, Marie Scheele.
