Lorraine Christine Bodin was born to Louis and Anna (Pearman) Bodin in Mobridge on July 5, 1914. This is the area where she was raised and attended Mobridge public schools, graduating from Mobridge High School with the class of 1931.

While in high school, Lorraine worked at the local drugstore behind the soda fountain. Following graduation, she became a nurse's aide at the Lowe Hospital and Clinic. Lorraine worked for Dr. Lowe, and later his sons, for 25 years.

It was while working at the hospital that Lorraine met Kenneth Klovstad. She and Kenneth were married June 22, 1948. Their first date was on Easter Monday and every year until Ken's death, they celebrated that first date. Lorraine and Ken moved to Miles City, Mont., in the early 1950s. While living in Montana, Lorraine learned to golf, and she and Ken went on many golfing trips together. The couple also spent the winter months in Pharr, Texas, enjoying friends and playing golf. In 1963, they moved to Aberdeen. Kenneth passed away July 20, 2005, and Lorraine moved to Angelhaus Regional Basic Care Center in 2007. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

In addition to her passion for golf, Lorraine also loved dancing. She learned to dance in her early years when her brother would take her to dances, assuring their mother that he would keep her safe.

Surviving Lorraine are: Nancy and Jim Augustine, Gordon and Rogene Bainbridge and Louise Miner, all of Grand Island, Neb., JoAnn Larson of Woodinville, Wash., and Patti de Freitas of Santa Barbara, Calif.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd; and her sister, Alice Bodin Hoffman.
