Lola E. Pautsch

 Mass of Christian burial for Lola E. Pautsch, 98, of Aberdeen will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Third Ave. S.E., Aberdeen, with Father Shane Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.

 Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign her online guestbook at schriversmemorial.com.

 Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the mortuary, with a liturgical wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues for one hour before Mass at the church on Friday.

 Lola passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. Blessed be her memory.

 Lola E. Milbrandt was born on July 17, 1914, to Charles G. and Lillie L. (Siemann) Milbrandt at Westport. This is the area where she was raised and attended school.

 Lola was united in marriage to Edwin A. Pautsch on June 23, 1935, at Westport. The couple made Westport their home and farmed nearby. They then moved to Aberdeen, where Lola was employed at the Aberdeen Country Club and later with the lunch program at Sacred Heart School. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

 Lola was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen and an active member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She was a very loyal blood donor, avid bingo player and Minnesota Twins fan.

 Surviving Lola are her daughter-in-law, Helen Pautsch of Downey, Calif.; six grandchildren: Shawna Pautsch and Sheila Pautsch of Downey, Calif., Robert King of Memphis, Tenn., Randy (Deborah) King of Memphis, Tenn., Laura (Robert) Wheat of Charleston, S.C., and Richard King of Memphis, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren: Eric and Mitchell King and Mason, Dylan and Victoria Wheat; and many nieces and nephews.

 Lola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; daughter, Mona King; son, Lawrence Pautsch; brothers: Walter, Ernest and Lloyd; and sisters: Minnie, Mabel, Inez and Ella; and son-in-law, Leon King.

 Funeral Mass for Rose Maxine Fleischhacker, 89, of Sisseton will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Waubay, with the Rev. Fr. David Axtmann, celebrant. Organist will be Helen Butler and song leader will be Bonnie Gaikowski. Pallbearers will be Brian Golombiecki, Jerry Fleischhacker, Chad Chapin, Todd Chapin, Pam Fogelman and Ashlyn Jorgenson. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Waubay. There will be visitation on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 2 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, is in charge of arrangements.

 Rose Maxine Pomrenke was born June 2, 1923, at home in Perkins County, to Herman and Mary Etta (Campbell) Pomrenke. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilmot and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton. She grew up in Perkins County and, at age 13, the family moved to a farm near Peever. She attended country school in Perkins County and graduated from eighth grade in Peever.

 On June 22, 1942, Rose married Leo Fleischhacker in Peever. They were married for over 60 years. They lived near Hillhead, Pickeral Lake, north of Sisseton and then farmed near Waubay from 1953 to 1996, when they retired to Watertown. In 2004, Rose moved to the Highrise in Sisseton and lived there until August 2012, when she moved to Jenkins Living Center in Watertown.

 Rose belonged to the Altar Society at Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed crocheting, writing poems and gardening. Rose passed away on Dec. 19, 2012, at Jenkins Living Center, Watertown.

 Rose was survived by her children: Max Fleischhacker of Watertown, Maxine and Dennis Golombiecki of Donnelly, Minn., Elise Fitz of Sioux Falls, Leona Chapin of Lisbon, N.D., Gloria and Kim Jorgenson of Waubay; one sister, Daisy Fleischhacker of Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Wallace Pomrenke of Pierz, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Rose is preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin great-grandsons, Dallas and Luke Fitz; one granddaughter, Erin Jorgenson; two sons-in-law: Raymond "Sonny" Fitz and Karlton Chapin.

Viola Hamburger

 Viola Hamburger, 82, of Gettysburg passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Gettysburg Memorial Hospital.

 Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Grace Bible Church, Gettysburg. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery, directed by Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at Grace Bible Church, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

 Viola Meller was born to Fred and Marie Meller at Arnett, Okla., on May 3, 1930. She attended grade and high school in Arnett.

 On Jan. 13, 1956, Viola was united in marriage to Melvin Hamburger at Shattuck, Okla. Following their marriage, they moved to Gettysburg in March 1956. They settled into the Setzer (Dutenhoeffer) place west of Gettysburg. From there, they moved north of Gettysburg, first to the Schneider Farm and then to the Tempt Farm, where she resided until her hospitalization.

 During her life, Viola enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, baking, doing word searches, quilting and sewing little dresses for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting her kids and grandkids. She and Melvin made many quilts, most of them for the children and grandchildren. The Neighborhood Bible Study was an important part of her life, in which she had been involved with for over 30 years.

 Viola is survived by her husband, Melvin; her children: Doug (Beth) Hamburger, Gettysburg, Dianne (Ray) VanBockel, Lebanon, Earline (Bryan) Jones, Brookings, Connie (Bret) Adee, Bakersfield, Calif., Loren (Shauna) Hamburger, Cheyenne, Wyo., Gloria (Jim) Meyer, White, and Cheryl (Bob) Taggart, Yankton; her grandchildren: Jill (Corey) Hicks, Amanda Hamburger, Valerie (Tom) Pryor, Vanesa (Peter) Hall, Jeremy (Jenny) Jones, Jordan Jones, Ashley Jones, Elizabeth, Austin, August and Victoria Adee, Richie and Nate Meyer, Rachael, Charlotte and Tully Taggart; her great-grandchildren: Autumn Hicks, Harper Pryor, Samuel, Maxwell, and Jackson Jones; her siblings: Helena (Charles "Nolan") Jackson, Amarillo, Texas, Leon (Yvonne) Meller, Irving, Texas, Clarence (Ute) Meller, Bartlesville, Okla., and Elvin (Sue) Meller, Waterloo, Iowa; sister-in-law, Iralee Meller, Shattuck, Okla.; aunt, Lena Yauck, Follett, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert Manecke

 Robert Manecke, 63, of Murdo, formerly of Britton, died Sunday, Dec. 23, at his home in Murdo. Services will be 2 p.m. at the Murdo Methodist Church, with Pastor Rick Hazen officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Britton Cemetery.

 Robert was born Sept. 28, 1949, in Britton to Elmer and Elsie (Sessler) Manecke. He grew up in Britton and graduated from Britton High School.

 He lived in Langford, Webster, Putney, McIntosh and Murdo. Robert worked as the Elevator Manager in Draper and Putney.

 He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching ballgames.

 He is survived by his three children: Shayne and Andria Manecke, their children: Ava and Dakota of Cut Bank, Mont.; Trent Manecke, his children: Robert and Melyssa of Murdo; and Kimberlee Manecke, her children: Aliya and Tarik Jackson of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; brother, Gordon Manecke of Mobridge; sister, Deloris and Wayne McKenly of Morvia, Iowa; and brother-in-law, John Wanous of White Lake.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Tom and Richard; and sister, Donna Wanous.

 Erma H. Stevens, 93, of South Haven, Minn., formerly of Redfield and Tower City, N.D., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

 Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 28, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 411 Becker Ave. S.W., Willmar, Minn., with Pastor Mari Thorkelson officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, N.D.

 Erma Helen Stevens was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Tower City, N.D., to William and Dora (Bruns) Richman. Erma grew up in Tower City, N.D.  

 She was united in marriage to Allan Clayton Stevens on Oct. 11, 1938, in Sisseton. Erma was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed many church activities at Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, socializing, gaming and spending time at Cotton Lake. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 She is survived by her children: Robert (Karen) of Sioux Falls, Gerald (Mary) of Faulkton, Douglas (Deb) of Lakeville, Minn., Michael of South Haven, Minn., and James (Sandra) of St. Louis Park, Minn.; sister, Darlene Iverson of Mound, Minn.; brother, John Richman of Tower City, N.D.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dora; husband, Allan; grandson, Ladell Thomas Stevens; brothers: William, Werner, and George Richman; and sister, Esther Zimmerman.

Harley M. Hall

 Harley M. Hall, 83, passed away Dec. 24, 2012, after a difficult fight with Leukemia (AML).

 He was born March 24, 1929, near Ordway, where he lived and farmed. He was owner of Hall Construction in Aberdeen. In 1977, he moved the company to Wyoming and then to the Black Hills. He retired in Aberdeen.

 Left behind to honor his memory are his son, Jeff Hall (Tara); grandson, John Hall; daughter, Kim Hall (Kendall Hedges); and very dear friend, Dawna Jewett.

 He was reunited with his parents, M.O. and Ann (Kom) Hall; brother, LeRoy; and sisters: Louise, Ceva and Lucille.

 There will be no service, per Dad's wishes.

 Richard passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

 Richard Lyle Stevens was born on April 13, 1927, at Aberdeen, S.D., to Lyle J. and Hazel (Ebert) Stevens. This is the area where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School.

 Richard enlisted with the United States Marine Corps on July 21, 1945, at Minneapolis. He served his country during World War II and received his honorable discharge on August 30, 1945.

 Richard was united in marriage to Jeanette Ione Hoven at Bowdle, S.D., on Oct. 18, 1948. He was employed as the office manager for American Freight for 27 years. Richard and Jeanette shared 48 years of marriage before she passed away in May 1993.

 Richard became a resident of Aberdeen Health and Rehab on May 5, 2011, and continued to reside there until the time of his death.

 He enjoyed raising and showing registered quarter horses, playing cards and attending Northern State University sporting events.

 Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; and his brothers and sisters.

 He is survived by many nieces, nephews and his good friend and caregiver, Jim (Tammy) Weiszhaar of Aberdeen.

 

Rienhold Eddie Moser

 Rienhold Eddie Moser, 79, of Pollock died Dec. 25, 2012, in the Linton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock, with the Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery.

 Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and from 5 to 9 p.m. at the church in Pollock. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before the services on Saturday. 

 Rienhold was born July 5, 1933, northwest of Pollock, the son of Jake and Freida (Naasz) Moser. He was raised and educated in the Pollock area. As a young man, he farmed on the family farm until he entered the Armed Forces. He was only enlisted for a short time when he was called back home to farm with his father.

 Rienhold married Lucille Schmidt on Dec. 9, 1951, at the Herreid Baptist Parsonage. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed northwest of Pollock.

 Rienhold officially retired in 1997, but continued to do various jobs. He was a member of State Line Snowmobile Club, Pollock American Legion, an active member of the Pollock Jaycees, The Moose Club in Mobridge and The Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee. Rienhold enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching westerns, playing cards and visiting with his family and friends.

 He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille, Herreid Good Samaritan Center; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Cindy Moser, Pollock, S.D., and Danny and Marlene Moser, Pollock, S.D.; two daughters and son-in-law: Diane and Rick Weisbeck, Eureka, S.D., and Doreen Moser and fiancée Mark Erickson, Stanley, N.D.; eight grandchildren: Jason (Jamie) Weisbeck, Amy (Ted) Misslitz, Tami (Darrell) Van Beek, Jordan Weisbeck, Ryan Moser, Brad Moser, Bryan Moser and Ronna Moser; four great-grandchildren: Callie and Reagan Weisbeck, Logan and Morgan Van Beek; one brother and sister-in-law: Wilbert and Sharon Moser, Pollock, S.D.; and a sister, Joanne Bauer, Herreid, S.D. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Maggie Fischer; sister and brother-in-law: Twilla and Peter C. Meyer; a brother-in-law, Stanley Bauer; and mother-in-law and father-in-law: Kasper and Sophia Schmidt.

Helen V. Long

 Helen Virginia Harms was born Oct. 21, 1918, to George and Edith (Junod) Harms in Aberdeen. She attended the Aberdeen public schools and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1936. She was homecoming queen in 1935. She attended Northern State Teachers College, the University of Wisconsin in Madison and graduated from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., in 1941. After graduation, she worked for her father in his piano and furniture store.

 She married Louis E Long Jr., on Aug. 5, 1942, in Aberdeen. After World War II, they returned to Aberdeen, where they owned and operated several businesses and farms.

 She was a life-long member of the Aberdeen Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of Fellowship Circle, past member of the choir and soloist, past Sunday school teacher and past president of the Zion Lutheran Church Women. She was a member of Chapter A.X. P.E.O., Time Club, Clio study club, and bridge club, past member and president of Zonta, and past member of A.A.U.W. She was Republican committee woman for 20 years. In 1964, she was honored as First Lady of Aberdeen and became an honorary member of BETA SIGMA PHI.

 She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorie Long Michaels and Robert A. Michaels of Wayzata, Minn.; son, Louis Harms Long of Rapid City, S.D.; six grandchildren: Jenifer Michaels Burger of Westlake Village, Calif., Allisson Michaels van Dijkum of Darien, Conn., Robert Louis Michaels of Chicago, Ill., Stas Tinigin of Kalamazoo, Mich., Amanda Long of Denver, Colo., and Max Long of Fort Worth, Texas; and five great-grandchildren: Alex Burger, Finley Burger, Alexandra van Dijkum, Julian van Dijkum and Naomi Michaels.

 She was preceded in death by her husband; father; mother; and sister, Georgia Ann Quinn.

 Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 South Main St., Aberdeen, with Pastor Tanya Rist presiding. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park, Aberdeen.
