 Aberdeen: Ada Mae McDonald, 88, of Aberdeen passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center in Aberdeen. No services are planned.

 Ada Mae Sumption was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Aberdeen to Guy and Ada (Taskerud) Sumption. She was raised and went to school in the Frederick area.

 Ada Mae was united in marriage to Eugene Earl McDonald on June 28, 1947, in Aberdeen. The couple farmed northeast of Aberdeen in the Tacoma Park area for nine years before moving west to Selby. In 1956, they acquired a local trucking firm and Eugene began to do long-haul trucking in the Selby area. In 1990, Eugene and Ada Mae moved to Black Hawk to continue the trucking business. Ada Mae and Eugene enjoyed nearly 59 years of marriage before he passed away in April 2006. Ada Mae then moved to Aberdeen, where she continued to reside until the time of her death.

 Surviving Ada Mae are her four sons: Delwyn R. (Barbara) McDonald of Tucson, Ariz.; Larry E. (Mary) McDonald of Clearwater, Fla.; Clark J. (Sue) McDonald of Benson, Minn.; and Leon R. McDonald of Aberdeen; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two brothers: Raymond Sumption and Willard Sumption, both of Frederick. Ada Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister and six brothers.

 Ada Mae will always be remembered for her outgoing spirit and friendly personality. She was most proud of her accomplishments and her family. Focusing on her good health was always a full-time passion.

  Aberdeen: Toby Huber, 37, of Aberdeen, formerly of Huron, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at First United Methodist Church, with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery and military honors by Huron Veterans Council.  Toby Ray Huber, son of Ervin and Dixie (Dunnick) Huber, was born Aug. 24, 1975, in Huron. He graduated from Huron High School in 1993. The following year, he joined the S.D. Army National Guard.

 He worked in Huron at Dakota Pork and Dakota Provisions. He had spent time living in Sioux Falls. After moving to Aberdeen, he worked for Northern Beef Packers.

 His many interests included wrestling, bicycling, darts, horseshoes, music, spending time with his friends, fantasy football and cooking. He loved all sports and it was an especially good day if the Vikings, Tarheels, or Yankees won their respective games.

 Toby is survived and loved by Bridgette Nelson and her two children, Cully and Abby, and granddaughter, Ella; his mother, Dixie Dunnick of Huron; his father, Erv (Kerry) Huber of Huron; his brothers: Cory (Erika) Huber of Huron, Brenden Huber of St. Peter, Minn., and Devan Huber of Baxter, Minn.; nephews: Daynon and Tyce; nieces: Mattie and Bryn; grandmother, Betty Jean Flolo of Huron; grandfather, Earl Huber of Huron; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the family dog, Hemi.

 Toby was preceded in death by his grandmother, Velma Huber; grandfather, Tom Flolo; and his nephew, Dominic Huber.

Earl Herman Redlin

  Ellendale, N.D.: Earl Herman Redlin, 95, of Ellendale died Dec. 21, 2012, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, N.D. He was born July 20, 1917, to Robert Julius and Thersa (Zirbel) Redlin in rural Codington County. Earl was educated in Watertown, where he graduated from high school furthering his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen.

 Earl became a teacher for five years in Waubay, where he met Ruth, his bride of 71 years. They were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster on May 31, 1941.

 Earl entered the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of the 34th Signal Company, serving three years in Anzio, Italy. He was honorably discharged and continued his education at South Dakota State University, Brookings, receiving his bachelor of science degree in agronomy.

 From this union of 71 years were born four children. In 1959, after the death of Earl's brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruby Redlin, Earl and Ruth lovingly took in their three children and raised them as their own.

 Earl was a leader in North Dakota politics for many years. He was a state senator, mayor of Ellendale, North Dakota State Commander of American Legion and councilman. He was president of the N.D. League of Cities and Municipalities. He was instrumental in Trinity Bible College coming to Ellendale. In Earl's later years, he served as Dickey County commissioner and served on many boards in the community and throughout the state.

 Survivors include his wife, Ruth Redlin, Ellendale, ND; six children: Gene (Peggy) Redlin, St. Charles, Ill.; Carol Kendall, Oakes, N.D.; Steven (Mary) Redlin, Buffalo, Minn.; James (Marla) Redlin, Ellendale, N.D.; Susan (Paul) Wortman, Elkhorn, Neb.; and Barbara Redlin, Fargo, N.D.; one brother, Wallace Redlin, Summit; one sister, Luella (Lee) Leonard, Watertown; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his son, John; four sisters; two infant sisters; and six brothers.

 Earl Redlin was loved and cherished by his family and will be missed by all who knew him. He passed away leaving behind him a legacy of integrity, character and strong Christian and moral values.

 The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale, with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to time of service at the church on Monday. Burial with military honors will be at the Ellendale City Cemetery, Ellendale. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.

Selby: Edna A. Himrich, 96, Selby, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Selby Good Samaritan Society. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the Selby United Church of Christ, with Pastor Mary Lou Gruebele leading the service. Burial follows at Selby Memorial Gardens. Organist will be Nancy Kindel, soloist will be Bill Thorstenson, and usher will be Vern Bohlander.

 Visitation will be at Lien Funeral Chapel, Selby, beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.

 Edna Alvina Schneider, daughter of Katherine (Hauck) and Henry Schneider, was born Aug. 29, 1916, north of Java in Campbell County. She received her formal education at the Kundert School north of Java. As a young lady, she enjoyed serving people at several area restaurants. She also performed domestic duties for several households in Selby. Edna married Oscar M. Himrich on Feb. 20, 1941, in Selby. They made their home and farmed one half mile east of Selby for many years. Edna and Oscar were truly partners on the farm as she assisted him with the farming activities. Mr. Himrich died Sept. 18, 1989, and several years later, Edna moved into Selby. She has resided at the Good Samaritan Society since summer 2006. She was a longtime member of the Selby United Church of Christ. Edna will be remembered as a great cook and an excellent hostess. At her home, the coffee pot was always on and she was able to whip something up in minutes.

 Edna is survived by one daughter, Ruby (Norm) Humphrey of Pierre; two stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Skye Witry and Les (Lucy) Humphrey; and four stepgreat-grandchildren: Josh, Ben, Erin and Sami.

 She was preceded in death by her father on Nov. 13, 1966; her mother on June 2, 1979; her husband; four brothers: Albert, John J., Rinel and Teddy; and two sisters: Emma Haux and Irene Fiedler.

 Honorary bearers will be the Schneider nieces and the staff of the Selby Good Samaritan Society.

 Viola Elizabeth Arbach was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Hoven to Mike M. and Rose (Hoffman) Arbach.

 On June 10, 1946, she married Harold Breen in Hoven and made their home on a farm near Seneca, where they raised their family. She always enjoyed her time gardening, reading and baking. In 1983, they moved into Gettysburg.

 Viola was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society and Potter County Extension Clubs.

 She is survived by her four children: Dianne Breen, Sioux Falls, Mary (Joe) Konst, Cary, N.C.,  Patrick, Seneca and Sandra (Scott) Diegel, Rapid City; 10 grandchildren: Timothy and Jason Konst, Sarah Price, Chris Breen, Rachael Schilder, Katie, Matthew, and Jeffrey Breen, Brandon and Courtney Diegel; and four great-grandchildren: Beau and Isaac Price, Jeremiah Diegel, Kinze Breen

 Viola was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; daughter-in-law, Janet; grandson, Michael; one sister, Clara Rader; and two brothers: Paul and Jerome Arbach

 Janet died Dec. 23, 2012, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

 Janet Marie Kraft, daughter of Vincent and Katherine (Welch) Kraft, was born Dec. 12, 1940. She grew up in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School. She moved to California to work for a short time.

 Janet was married and in the mid-1960s they returned to Aberdeen. She worked at Ben Franklin Store and Pamida. In the early 1980s, she began to work at Super 8 Motel as a front desk clerk, primarily at the west location. In 2005, Janet retired.

 Janet enjoyed knitting, crocheting and word search puzzles. She loved baking and selling her Christmas cookies.

 Janet was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society and Band 8.

 Janet is survived by her two daughters: Kathy (Don) Hanson of Claremont and Tonette (Tony) Voeltz of Sioux Falls; and two grandchildren: Alyssa Voeltz and Rebecca Hanson.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Sue Ellen; one brother, Wilbur Kraft; and one grandson, Jordan Hanson.

 The organist and cantor will be Charlene Blondo.

 Roger G. Hanson, 70, Pollock, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, N.D. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock with the Rev. Ramona Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery, Pollock. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, N.D., and continue from 5 to 9 p.m. at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

 Roger G. Hanson was born Aug. 16, 1942, in Mobridge, to Clemmet and Lydia (Kost) Hanson. He attended school in Pollock and graduated from Pollock High School in 1960.

 Roger married Judy Davis on Nov. 24, 1961, at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church. Following their marriage, they lived in Brookings, until Roger graduated from SDSU in 1964. They then resided in Pollock, and Roger farmed with his dad while working part-time for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service at Herreid. In 1968, they moved to their present farm. Roger taught an AG School to veteran's in the 1970s. He served on the Pollock School Board, Campbell County Extension Board, Pollock Lutheran Church Council, Oahe-Sub-Conservancy District Board-Advisory Board of the Spring Creek Watershed District, President of Mid-Dakota Polled Hereford Associagtion. and was a 4-H leader for many years. Roger liked working with cattle and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

 Roger is survived by his wife, Judy, of Pollock, one son and two daughters-in-law: Troy and Jamie Hanson of Pollock and Sandra Hanson of College Station, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, LaNae and Mark Harberts of Freeman; eight grandchildren: Travis Hanson, Teirany Quinn, Davis, Taylor, Alexis, James, and Jacob Hanson and Charles Harberts; two great-grandchildren: Skyler Hanson and Breydan Quinn; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Irve and Jean Hanson of Pollock and Clifford and Elsie Hanson of Spearfish; one sister, Joan Langbehn, of Lewistown, Mont; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wade; mother-in-law and father-in-law.

 Estes Park, Colo., and Aberdeen, S.D., resident Marvin Kaiser died Saturday evening Dec. 22, 2012, at Prospect Park Living Center in Estes Park. He was 83 years old.

 Marvin Eugene Kaiser was born July 2, 1929, in Milliken, Colo. His parents were John and Amelia (Betz) Kaiser. Marvin graduated from Gill, Colo., High School. On September 18, 1950, he married Barbara Erickson in Denver. They had lived in Grand Junction, Colo., Fruita, Colo., and Aberdeen, S.D. They moved to Estes Park from Lyons, S.D.

 Marvin was a self-employed trucker and had worked at VanWaters and Rogers as a salesman and at Colorado Steel and Wire as a salesman and driver. He was an independent trucker from 1977, until his health forced him to retire in 2008.

 He was a member of the Episcopal faith and had attended St. Bartholomew's Church in Estes Park and St. Mark's in Aberdeen. He enjoyed making crafts and traveling with his life-size statues of the Blues Brothers.

 Marvin is survived by his children: Eric Kaiser of Fayetteville, N.C., Marvin C. Kaiser of Joliet, Ill., and Sonya Binns of Estes Park, Colo.; and grandson, Justin Kaiser of Joliet, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara, in 1994; daughters: Thea Kaiser-Owen and Rise Kaiser; son, Greg Kaiser; two brothers; and a sister.

 A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3800 West 20th St in Greeley, Colo.  Funeral Mass for Rose Maxine Fleischhacker, 89, of Sisseton, S.D., will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waubay, S.D., with the Rev. Fr.  Rose Maxine Pomrenke was born June 2, 1923, at home in Perkins County, S.D., to Herman and Mary Etta (Campbell) Pomrenke. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilmot, S.D., and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, S.D. She grew up in Perkins County and, at age 13, the family moved to a farm near Peever, S.D. She attended country school in Perkins County and graduated from eighth grade in Peever. On June 22, 1942, Rose married Leo Fleischhacker in Peever, S.D. They were married for over 60 years. They lived near Hillhead, S.D., Pickeral Lake, S.D., north of Sisseton, S.D., and then farmed near Waubay from 1953 to 1996, when they retired to Watertown, S.D. In 2004, Rose moved to the highrise in Sisseton, until August 2012, when she moved to Jenkins Living Center in Watertown, S.D. Rose belonged to the Altar Society at Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed crocheting, writing poems and gardening. Rose passed away on Dec. 19, 2012, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown, S.D.

 Rose is survived by her children: Max Fleischhacker of Watertown, S.D., Maxine and Dennis Golombiecki of Donnelly, Minn., Elise Fitz of Sioux Falls, S.D., Leona Chapin of Lisbon, N.D., Gloria and Kim Jorgenson of Waubay, S.D.; one sister, Daisy Fleischhacker of Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Wallace Pomrenke of Pierz, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin great-grandsons, Dallas and Luke Fitz; one granddaughter, Erin Jorgenson; two sons in-law, Raymond (Sonny) Fitz and Karlton Chapin.
