Aberdeen: The memorial service for Lawrence Larry Miller, 58, of Aberdeen and formerly of Wetonka, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen. Pastor Marcia Sylvester will officiate. Burial will be in the Wetonka Cemetery at a later date. Larry died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Lawrence Allen Miller, son of Lawrence Lynn and Hazel Helen (Alldritt) Miller, was born Nov. 20, 1954, in Aberdeen. He was raised in Wetonka and graduated from Leola High School.

Following high school, Larry went to work for Beilke Construction for several years. He later owned and operated the Cozy Inn in Wetonka. Larry began driving truck and eventually went to work for Jensen Rock and Sand, where he was employed until his health forced him to retire. He entered Aberdeen Health and Rehab and remained there until the time of his death.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slot machines. He loved watching football and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.

Grateful for having shared Larry's life are one brother, James (Norma) Miller, Wetonka; seven sisters: Darliss VanderVorste, Emmetsburg, Iowa, Barbara Clausen, Sturgis, Linda (Roger) Rohwedder, Wetonka, Judy (Clarence) Hammrich, Ipswich, Cathleen Miller, Lancaster, Texas, Gloria (Earl) Rudolph and Jacqueline (Dennis) Anderson, both of Aberdeen; one brother-in-law, Francis Glaser; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Marie Glaser and Sharon Miller.

Webster: Judy Barber, 89, of Webster died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster, the Rev. Daniel Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Waubay.

Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue prior to services.

Judith Sophie Holland was born Thursday, April 12, 1923, to Jacob and Isabelle (Sampson) Holland on the family farm near Pierpont. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Webster High School in 1940. After high school, she worked in the Webster area.

She was married to Vernon Jud Barber for 59 years, when he passed away in October 2005. The couple lived in Waubay for the first 20 years of marriage, and then moved to Webster in 1965. She worked at the Day County Courthouse, and then served as Day County treasurer for 23 years, until her retirement. She entered Sun Dial Manor in Bristol in January 2007.

She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster. She enjoyed working in her garden, wood-carving, crocheting and reading. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and traveled to Norway with 19 family members in 1998. She also loved visiting with family and friends. She had a special love for children of all ages.

Judy passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Bristol, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 28 days.

Survivors include her children: Wesley Rasmussen of Madison, Charlotte (Chuck) Glynn of Fullerton, N.D., Loma (Jim) Erickson of Mesa, Ariz., Jeanne (Ron) Schetnan of Fergus Falls, Minn., Mary Jo (Don) Hough of Sioux Falls and Jim (Bonnie) Barber of Hudson, Wis.; four sisters: Emma Waddle, Selma (Jay) Evenson, Helen (Ted) Nelson, all of Webster, and Serine (Earl) Althoff of Waubay; two sisters-in-law: Cecilia Barber of Milford, Iowa, and Shirley Bundrock of Orangevale, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Alice; two brothers: Edwin and Sherman Holland; and three sisters: Lorraine Peterson, Irene Tvinnereim and Harriet Evenson.

Fargo, N.D.: Duane passed away April 12, 2013, at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health, Fargo, after a courageous battle against cancer.

 Duane Anthony, son of Anton (Tony) and Barbara (Feit) Fettig, was born July 18, 1945 in Rugby, N.D.

 Duane lived and worked in various places over his life, but for anyone that knew him, there were things that never changed, such as his dedication to his longtime companion, his collection of watches and eagles, his candy stash that invaded every drawer of the house and the love for his pick-up. Duane was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Colombus.

 He is survived by his longtime companion and friend, Dorene Gregor; his daughter, Jodi (Calvin) Gardner of Aberdeen; two grandchildren: Heaven and Anthony (Tony); two sisters: Donna (Scotty) Krall of San Antonio, Texas, and Sharon (Thomas) Bird of West Fargo, N.D.; sister-in-law, Donna Fettig of Minot, N.D.; brother-in-law, Marvin Newgard of Devils Lake, N.D. He is also survived by many nieces, a nephew and many great-nieces and nephews.

 Duane was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Fettig; and one sister, Janice Newgard.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

 Jerald Edwin Kallenberger, son of Edwin and Marie (Eisenbeisz) Kallenberger, was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Aberdeen. This is the area where he was raised and attended school.

 He was united in marriage to Angie Hoffman on June 25, 1977, at St. James Church in Leola. Together they made their home in Aberdeen, where they raised their family. Jerald did construction work and also worked as a baker for several years. He later went to work for Al's Specialty Manufacturing.

 Jerald and Angie began making their home in Leola, where they owned and operated AJ Café. He worked at North Central Farmers Elevator before starting with North Star Energy, where he delivered propane.

 Jerald enjoyed classic cars and loved riding his trike. In his free time, he enjoyed going to car shows, poker runs, tinkering on various items and was willing to lend a hand to anybody who needed it on any project they had.

 Grateful for having shared Jerald's life are his wife, Angie; granddaughter, Kayleigh Kallenberger; three sons: Jeremy (Miranda) Kallenberger and Jason (Jennifer) Kallenberger, both of Leola, and Justin (Darby) Kallenberger of Aberdeen; five grandchildren: Cadin Kallenberger, Bailey Kallenberger, Anari Kallenberger, Jacob Kallenberger and Jayden Kallenberger; and two sisters: Julie Haar and Jeannette (Gene) Brick.

 Jerald was preceded in death by his parents.

 Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Aberdeen: The memorial service for Susan Seaton, 54, Aberdeen, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 S. Jay St., Aberdeen, with Pastor Jack Erickson officiating. Susan died Wednesday, April 10, at her home.

 Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at the church.

 Susan Gail Schnabel Seaton was born in Aberdeen on April 8, 1959, to LaVina and Hugo Schnabel. As a teenager, she was a National Merit Scholar semifinalist and participated in the Sounds of Celebration Choir.

 She graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1977, and then attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. She studied for a year in Maine and graduated from Dordt in 1981, with a degree in history. After college, she met her husband, Jim. They were married Oct. 4, 1986, and moved to the Seaton family farm south of Aberdeen. Their daughter, Isabella, was born in 1993, and their son, Isaac, was born in 1998.

 She was a devoted mother who enjoyed attending her children's activities, including plays and concerts, and she especially enjoyed theater festivals. Susan loved the Aberdeen Community Theater and Storybook Land Theater. She liked walking and traveling, and had the opportunity to travel to Japan with ACT for their production of "Honk." Susan was an avid library patron, as she loved to read murder mysteries. She was one of the great rock and roll fans and loved listening to music and seeing bands play with her sisters and brother, all of whom she was very close to. Susan's family was very important to her and she enjoyed visiting close and extended family members. She worked for Avera St. Luke's for more than 30 years alongside wonderful co-workers and friends.

 She is preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles and leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. Surviving Susan are her husband of 26 years, Jim; daughter, Isabella; son, Isaac; siblings: Linda, Sharon and Lori Schnabel, Aberdeen; Peggy (Scott) Beier, Sioux Falls; Bonnie Schnabel, Yankton; and Dale Schnabel, Yankton; and niece, Ann (Brian) Mack, Sioux Falls.

 Randy passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at home while doing the things he loved.

 Randy was born on April 9, 1947, to Fred and Mable (Haberman) Kingery in Aberdeen. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1965. He attended the School of Commerce earning an accounting certificate in 1966. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Misawa, Japan, from 1967-1970. He was honorably discharged.

 After serving in the military, Randy returned to Aberdeen, where he worked on a combine crew traveling to Texas, following that, for Wright & Sudlow. In August 1977, he was hired by the city of Aberdeen as a traffic control analyst. He retired in November 2006. He was a member of the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post No. 24, the Aberdeen Amateur Radio Club, his call sign was KA0ZEE, the National Rifle Association and the American Hunting Club.

 Randy married Michelle Freeman on Oct. 26, 1985, in Aberdeen at St Paul's Lutheran Church. They made their home in Aberdeen, where they raised their daughter, Jessica.

 In his retirement, he kept himself busy by driving the VA hospital van and being a handyman at the YMCA.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ralph Kingery; and his nephew, Michael Thurman.

 Survivors include his wife, Michelle; and daughter, Jessica; his brother, Ron (Lorie) Kingery of Torrance, Calif.; his sister, Linda (Ken) West Jr. of Eagle Butte; many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and other family.
