Viola Emma Caroline Krueger was born May 14, 1923, in Aberdeen to Henry and Bertha (Rappe) Krueger. She grew up on a farm and loved hard work and the outdoors. Viola attended Wetonka Grade School. On May 15, 1941, she received her high school diploma from Leola High School.
Viola married Clifford Milbrandt on April 5, 1944, in Hankinson, N.D. They lived on a farm near Hankinson for one year before moving to Aberdeen in 1945. Viola was a home-maker and a stay-at-home mom. She worked at Nikolas Grocery for a few years while their three children were in school.
Viola enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and watching TV, especially the Twins baseball games and the Lawrence Welk Show. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 60 years and served lunch for numerous funerals. Viola had a great memory and beautiful penmanship. She was honest, determined and a very tough lady. With heavy hearts, we say so long for now to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Grateful for having shared Viola's life are her three children: Irene (LeRoy) Siers, Coulee City Wash., Elaine (Jack) Johnson, Aberdeen, and Richard Milbrandt, Aberdeen; grandchildren: Brian Siers, Brad (Sunny) Siers, Stacy (Bryan) Bauer, Jason (Kristi) Milbrandt and Jesse (Jamie) Milbrandt; and great-grandson, Hunter Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Milbrandt; parents, Henry and Bertha Krueger; brothers: Albert and Arnold Krueger; grandson, Steven Milbrandt; and great-granddaughter, Bailey Bauer.
