Viola Emma Caroline Milbrandt

The funeral service for Viola Emma Caroline Milbrandt, 89, of Aberdeen will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Deb Grismer officiating.

 Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

 Viola died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

 Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in Aberdeen.

 Viola Emma Caroline Krueger was born May 14, 1923, in Aberdeen to Henry and Bertha (Rappe) Krueger. She grew up on a farm and loved hard work and the outdoors. Viola attended Wetonka Grade School. On May 15, 1941, she received her high school diploma from Leola High School.

 Viola married Clifford Milbrandt on April 5, 1944, in Hankinson, N.D. They lived on a farm near Hankinson for one year before moving to Aberdeen in 1945. Viola was a home-maker and a stay-at-home mom. She worked at Nikolas Grocery for a few years while their three children were in school.

 Viola enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and watching TV, especially the Twins baseball games and the Lawrence Welk Show. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 60 years and served lunch for numerous funerals. Viola had a great memory and beautiful penmanship. She was honest, determined and a very tough lady. With heavy hearts, we say so long for now to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

 Grateful for having shared Viola's life are her three children: Irene (LeRoy) Siers, Coulee City Wash., Elaine (Jack) Johnson, Aberdeen, and Richard Milbrandt, Aberdeen; grandchildren: Brian Siers, Brad (Sunny) Siers, Stacy (Bryan) Bauer, Jason (Kristi) Milbrandt and Jesse (Jamie) Milbrandt; and great-grandson, Hunter Bauer.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Milbrandt; parents, Henry and Bertha Krueger; brothers: Albert and Arnold Krueger; grandson, Steven Milbrandt; and great-granddaughter, Bailey Bauer.

The memorial service for Michael John Osborne, 60, of Aberdeen will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at New Life Fellowship in Aberdeen. Pastor Rodney Johnson will officiate.

 Michael died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at his home.

 Michael John Osborne was born Dec. 23, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Following his mother's death when he was 5 years of age, he was placed into foster care. He was adopted by John Theodore and Darlene (Knehans) Osborne when he was 12 years old. He grew up on the Pine Ridge Reservation, where his father was a teacher on American Indian reservations. He graduated from Oglala Community School in Pine Ridge in 1969.

 He was united in marriage to Diana Place in 1981 in Glenvil, Neb. Michael was a true jack of all trades, whether driving truck, or doing electrical work. What he did best was love his family and the Lord. He was employed at Aberdeen Machine Tool from 1993-2012, working as an electrician. He also was a transporter for Pierson Ford.

 Michael enjoyed hunting, all outdoor activities and motorcycling.

 Michael is survived by three sons: Pike (Kristine) Osborne of Mellette, Tryson (Andrea) Peak of Alma, Neb., and Michael (Jess Papke) Osborne of Aberdeen; his parents: John and Darlene Osborne of Bessmer, Mich.; one brother, Tim (Mary Jean) Osborne of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Christine (Dave Miller) Osborne-Rigoni of Ironwood, Mich.; aunt, Velma Knehans of Hastings, Neb; uncle, Ralph Knehans of Topeka, Kan.; friends, Diana Osborne-Hulshof and Scott Hulshof of Aberdeen; and six grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his birth mother.

 In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.

The funeral for Mary Walther, 86, of Linton will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton.

 Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 She died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in a Wishek, N.D., nursing home.

 Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Friday at Myers Funeral Home in Linton, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

 Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Saturday.

Ione M. Curr of Amherst will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at First Lutheran Church of Britton, with the Rev. Terrill Sorensen officiating.

 Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery.

 Ione Curr died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.

 An Order of the Eastern Star and VFW Auxiliary Service were conducted at Price Funeral Chapel of Britton last night at 7 p.m.

 There will also be visitation one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

 Ione Merilla Price was born May 17, 1921, in Britton to Earl and Bertha (Hustel) Price. She attended elementary school and three years of high school in Britton and graduated from Chaffey High School, Ontario, Calif., in 1939 (during the year her parents lived there). Ione attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls and returned to Britton, where she was employed by Harry W. Nelson as a legal secretary. Ione then moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she was employed as an executive secretary until July 1950.

 On Sept. 5, 1950, Ione married Raymond E. Curr in her parents' home in Britton. Ione and Raymond lived in Britton and then on their farm south of Amherst for 53 years. At the time of her death, Ione was a resident of Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Pine River, Minn.

 Ione was a member of First Lutheran Church of Britton, where she served as president of the ALCW, a Sunday school teacher, and was the first woman council member. She was a 60-year member and a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a 60-year member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries of Britton. She played golf, was active in 4-H when her daughters were members, and was always interested in whatever her children and grandchildren were doing.

 Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters: Mrs. Denice (Neil) Smith of Pine River, Minn., and Mrs. Cherry (Charles) Hall of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters: Evelyn Witham of Aberdeen and Beverly Torbert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren: Rae (Mark) Phillips, Amy (Brian) DeKanick, Scott (Deborah) Smith and Patrick (Katie) Hall; and seven great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Mara Phillips, Vivian Ione DeKanick, Jackson Smith and Whitney Smith and Kristopher and Zachary Hall.

 Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; and an infant brother, Ira.

 Music for the funeral will be provided by Dorothy Christenson, organist, and Amy Jo Vietor, soloist.

 Casketbearers will be Mark Phillips, Brian DeKanick, Patrick Hall, Scott Smith, Loren Jerde and Curtis Curr.

The funeral for Marie Klettke of Kulm will be Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Kulm.

 Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Kulm.

 Burial will be at the Congregational Cemetery in Kulm.

 Marie Maggie Rall, daughter of Raymond and Ida (Pitt) Rall, was born March 5, 1922, in Redcliff, Alberta, Canada. She was baptized July 30, 1922, at the Evangelical Church in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. At the age of 2 , she came with her parents to the United States, where they lived in the Merricourt, N.D., area. Marie attended rural country schools in the Merricourt area and took high school through the Department of Correspondence of Study in Fargo, N.D. During the World War II years, she taught in rural schools south and east of Kulm.

 Marie and William Klettke were married June 2, 1946, at the Kulm Zion Evangelical Church. They moved onto a farm seven miles southeast of Kulm and, in 1981, retired and moved into Kulm. Bill passed away December 1985.

 Marie was a member of the United Methodist Women, Legion Auxiliary, Whitestone Friendship Club and the Senior Citizen Friendship Club. Marie liked working with family and school history and visiting places of interest. She enjoyed visiting and corresponding with family, friends and relatives. Marie enjoyed children, working with them and helping them in some way. Her school pupils were special to her remembering her in some event of some kind. Marvin, Thomas, Amanda and Bobby's visits meant so much to her.

 Marie died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, N.D. She was 90 years old.

 Marie is survived by two sons: Marvin Klettke of Kulm, and Thomas Klettke of Jamestown, N.D.; and two grandchildren: Amanda and Bobby Klettke of Kulm.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and her parents, Raymond and Ida Rall.

John passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at his home in Aberdeen.

John Mauritz Mauritzson was born on Aug. 6, 1943, in Bristol to Birger and Melverid (Olson) Mauritzson. This is the area where he was raised and attended school. As a young man, Johnny worked for the Sugar Creek Creamery and also helped local farmers in the Bristol area.

John was united in marriage to Ronnett Bonn on April 14, 1967. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Jodie and Jeff. John was employed with the railroad industry for 43 years. During his career, he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Trancisco Rail, Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad before retiring in 2009.

John loved to fish, hunt, do yard work and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandsons, family and friends.

Surviving John is his wife, Ronnett; daughter, Jodie (Jarrod) Kannas; son, Jeff Mauritzson; and five grandsons: Brandon, Connor, Preston, Prestley and Jaden, all of Aberdeen. He is also survived by four brothers: Arvid (Janice) Mauritzson of Clio, Mich., Randy (Audrey) Mauritzson, Mark Mauritzson and Joel Mauritzson, all of Billings, Mont.; four sisters: Sonja (Dean) Emmen of Orangevale, Calif., JoAnn (Donald) Tobin of Wahpeton, N.D., Karen (Jens) Fink of Sacramento, Calif., and Kathy Mauritzson of Bristol.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
